Madi and Aj met all the way back in 2018 at the University of Akron during their first week of college. Madi was hanging out with a new friend that she met at college orientation a few months earlier (shout out Amanda!). Amanda invited Madi to come with her to help her boyfriend (at the time) move into his dorm. Madi agreed to go. Little did she know that she was about to meet someone who would later become the most important person in her life. Can you guess who Amanda’s boyfriend’s roommate was? Aj. Madi and Aj only spent a couple hours talking in a group of people before going their separate ways that day, but Aj knew there was something special about Madi that he just couldn’t forget. But, time passed and life got in the way for a little bit, as silly college drama does. They drifted apart and it seemed like that was how it would stay. But the universe had other plans. Almost two years later Aj saw Madi from across the room at one of their favorite bars, right before her 21st birthday. Aj walked up to Madi and started talking to her. They spent the night laughing harder than either one of them ever had. It was clear their personalities were a perfect fit. From then on Madi and Aj spent countless hours and nights on facetime just talking and learning everything about each other. No matter how long they were on the phone, they never got bored of each other. They actually would both try to find ways to delay ending the call! After a while, Madi’s roommates started pointing out that she was happiest when she was talking to Aj. But Madi always brushed it off and said she and Aj were just best friends who have very similar personalities and get along really well. Aj however, began to see that this was something deeper than just friendship and knew that they were meant to be together. But Madi was too scared of the thought of losing her best friend if things didn’t work out. Blinded by that fear, she couldn’t see that deep down she felt the same way. So Madi made a really terrible decision and (almost) ruined the best thing that would ever happen to them! She turned Aj down. They decided to settle for being friends. Madi and Aj both tried moving on, but being unable to stuff down feelings, they ended up going in separate directions again for a little while. But fate brought them back together for a third time. About 6 months of friendship, support, kindness, and laughter later, Madi’s true feelings for Aj smacked her in the face and there was no more denying it. She finally saw what everyone else had been seeing this entire time, they were perfect for each other. Madi told Aj the second she realized it. Aj couldn’t believe it. He thought she was joking for at least 30 minutes after she told him. After years of almost, Madi and Aj finally found their way to each other at the perfect time. They officially began dating right after in 2021. And they have been living happily ever after ever since.
