We have worked to create a guest list of our closest friends and family to celebrate with us, as we are keeping this as intimate as possible we ask that no additional guests are added unless specified on your invitation
Children listed on invitations are welcome at both the ceremony and reception. We kindly ask that if they become fussy or disruptive during the ceremony, they be taken to the open barn reception area as to not disrupt the ceremony. There will be a kids area upstairs at the venue, we ask they are not left unattended due to venue rules and the spiral staircase that leads up.
Our dress code is casual dressy. Nice jeans with a button-up or blouse are perfect, and casual dresses work too. We ask that everyone skip super casual items like old T-shirts or overly distressed clothing.
Your presence will surely be missed! If you’re unable to attend, please RSVP accordingly by the requested date so we can finalize our plans. If you’ve already RSVP’d “yes” but something changes, please let one of us know directly. For those who can’t be there in person, a livestream of the ceremony will be available to watch remotely.
We ask that you join us in being fully present during our ceremony by putting away your phones and cameras except the designated recorder. We’ve hired an amazing professional photographer to capture every special moment, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
We’re hoping to celebrate with an outdoor fall ceremony and mixed reception to enjoy the beautiful season weather permitting! But don’t worry, we’ve made backup plans just in case Mother Nature has other ideas.
For our guests who smoke, there will be a clearly marked smoking section available. We kindly ask that you use this space and help us keep the area clean by disposing of any waste properly
We don’t have a traditional registry, but if you’d like to contribute, we’re accepting donations toward our future home and honeymoon. A card box will be located clearly in the reception room, this can also be sent via any platform if you reach out to us directly.
Our wedding will be held at Schafer Century Barn 1628 280th St, Adair, IA 50002 The barn is tucked into the Iowa countryside, just off I-80 near Adair. When you arrive, you’ll see a circular gravel drive around the barn with the designated parking area across the street. Please keep vehicles on the gravel (not the grass) so the grounds stay beautiful for everyone.
Our ceremony begins at 3:30 PM. We recommend arriving between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM to park, find your seat, and enjoy the fall scenery and charcuterie board before things begin.
Please RSVP by Saturday, August 15th, 2026 so we can finalize our headcount for food, seating, and all the little details that make the day special.
