We matched on the dating app Upward, after each deciding this was going to be our last swipe. On June 24, 2022, we went on our first date at LaCarreta in Lynchburg. Alex was extremely nervous and showed up an hour early. We immediately hit it off and talked for several hours until the phone call that her grandma had passed away came. We continued our dinner in this very strange time while also navigating a first date. What a story that will be to tell our children one day. That night we went our separate ways and we both knew we wanted more dates. We went out again two weeks later and have been inseparable ever since. We have been through a lot of ups and downs including a crazy roommate, a trip to Disney World, a few trips to the ER, and more recently a move. We are so happy that God brought us together and allowed us to continue on this journey of life together. Here's to a lifetime of dates and happiness with my person.
