Our Story

We met at a youth conference. Not many words were exchanged. But, little did we know that God had planned for us to continue to see each other every year at this conference. We saw each other sporadically for the next couple of years. It was 2019 and the annual conference was coming up, and the Lord had put in our hearts that something we had been praying for would happen. During the preparations for the conference, our friendship flourished, and it was then that we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

THE PROPOSAL

September 26, 2019

I knew that I wanted to glorify God in our engagement, so I thought of a way that I could give Him honor on that special day. I remembered that there is a cross at the top Mt. Soledad in San Diego and I knew that was the place. It was a Thursday when I'm usually at church at a bible study, so I asked her parents to take her the location without her knowing. And as she was driving up the mountain, I called her on the phone and said some words to her and when she was walking up the stairs to the cross the last thing I said was "I have one more thing to ask you" ... *hangs up phone*... "will you marry me?" and she cried and replied "yes! ". - Alex September 26, 2019, I had just gotten back home from my accounting class when my parents told me we are going out somewhere and to dress nicely. Confused I kept asking "why " and they wouldn't tell me, I had just spoken to Alex and I knew he had a church that day so I didn't suspect anything. It wasn't until we started driving up to Mt. Soledad that I got a phone call from Alex and suddenly everything started to make sense as he exchanged heartfelt words that made tears fall from my eyes, I saw him standing on the top of Mt.Soledad and as I got out the car we hung up and I walked up the steps to where he was and he said, " I have one more thing to ask you. Will you marry me ?" and I said "YES!!!!!" - Lynette Now we are excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
