Explore the quintessential Vermont town of Woodstock. The town was founded in 1761 on the banks of the Ottauquechee River, and evolved from a farming village to a mill town and finally to an artisan and tourism hub over the subsequent years. Now Woodstock is known for its antique shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants - and of course the classic Vermont-style covered bridge on the edge of town.
Nearby Queeche, Vermont is also home to the world-famous glassblowing factory of Simon Pearce. The old mill overlooks the Ottauquechee river that powers its turbines. Watch Simon Pearce artisans at work in the glassblowing studio, shop the beautiful glass and pottery designs (maybe pick up a last-minute registry item…), or grab a bite to eat at their seriously amazing restaurant while overlooking the river.
On the outskirts of the town of Woodstock, Billings Farm is both a fully operating dairy farm and an outdoor history museum. The farm was founded in 1871 and is now owned by the Woodstock Foundation. It’s a great place to go for a scenic walk, meet some cows, taste cheese, and learn a bit about Vermont’s rich farming history.
Surrounded by the lush Kedron Valley and stunning views of Mount Peg, the golf course at the Woodstock Country Club is a picturesque venue set amidst an unspoiled Vermont landscape. The premier 18-hole course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and listed as one of the top 100 golf resorts by Golf Magazine, boasts a par 70 layout that offers an unforgettable experience for golfers of all abilities
