The area is primarily a neighborhood of houses that line four canals about a quarter-mile long each. Along these channels are sidewalks and bridges you can walk to take in the views of this beautiful area
Temescal Canyon Loop offers a good workout along with ocean and canyon views. Temescal Gateway Park is situated just off Sunset Blvd in the Pacific Palisades, and this convenient urban location makes Temescal Canyon Loop a very popular hike. The hike is 2.6 miles.
The Santa Monica Steps or “The Stairs” (either name works), are free to the public and open 24-7, 365 days a year. There are two sets of steps, wooden ones that are wider across and offer a straight shot up, and concrete ones that are more narrow and wind back and forth like switchbacks on a trail.
