We met online in May 2016. After a few messages back and forth, we finally set up our first date, on Memorial Day no less! Since I was already down the shore for the holiday, we chose to meet outside of Alex's house in Hazlet. We had drinks at the Downtown in Red Bank, which went well, despite the vodka shot we took (my pick, that I would later find out Alex hates), and headed to Robinson Alehouse. We knew we didn't want the night to end so we decided to go to the beach. An hour later, and too many flies, we headed back to the car, drove around, and talked until 2 AM. And that was just the beginning...
On November 5, 2020, we were supposed to be visiting friends in Maryland for a long weekend, where Alex had planned to propose. Unfortunately, with a surge in COVID and strict travel restrictions, we had to cancel and went about our normal Thursday. Formulating a new plan, he suggested we have a date night-in, complete with a charcuterie board (which I could never say no to) and Netflix. Sitting on the couch, over a board of cheese, Alex proposed! After an initial moment of shock, I said yes! Happy tears ensued and forever begins :) We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
