Whether you're hiking or driving one of the scenic byways, there are plenty of places to view the beautiful colors and mountains of the Adirondacks.

If you don't want to hike for a view, you can take a gondola ride up to the summit of Whiteface Mountain--the most famous peak in the Adirondack region--for the most picturesque view of Lake Placid.  Tickets are $25 and run from 10am-5pm daily.

Gondola Ride to Summit of Whiteface Mountain

Lake Placid was the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games.  There are multiple sites here to see, as well as a museum and a ride to the top of one of the ski jumps.
