Our wedding venue is at 8560'. The best way to prevent negative effects of altitude is to stay very hydrated before and during your stay! There are many places to stay in the Salt Lake Valley (elevation 4220') if you'd like to limit your time at higher elevation but still be 15 mins from the wedding action.
Mountain semi-formal attire. We want everyone to look their best but be comfortable in the mountains! The ceremony will be outside at the base of the ski resort, so wear appropriate shoes that you can walk over grass and dirt in.
Because it is a protected watershed, no dogs are allowed in Little Cottonwood Canyon
Late September in the mountains can be unpredictable. Usually we experience temps in the mid 60's, but it can be much warmer, or colder than that. Bring layers. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, weather permitting. All wedding events are close to the lodge, so getting or dropping off layers should be easy.
Yes!! The lodge has set up a special wedding rate of $100 per room per night for our guests. Please call the GMD front desk at and tell them you'd like more information for Kami and Alex's wedding.
