We met on a Friday night, at what was called, The Venue, in Livermore. After a long day at work, Justine did not feel like going out that night, but her cousins convinced her to go. When Alex and his friend walked into The Venue, the first thing Justine noticed was his smile. After meeting a couple "frogs" that night, Justine and Alex finally started talking. He appeared to be quiet and shy, which made Justine ask most of the questions. As the night ended, Alex was interested and wanted to know more about Justine. Justine could overhear him talking with his friend, and his friend telling Alex to go for it and ask for her number, because he never knew where it could lead. Sure enough, Alex craftily asked for Justine's number by saying something along the lines of making sure she made it home safely that night. He did in fact make sure Justine made it home safely that night, and has made sure she's been safe every night since then.
We planned an overnight trip to Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay has always been one of our favorite spots to explore. Although, Justine had hopes that Alex might propose, she was pretty sure that he did not even have a ring so she decided not to get her hopes up. When they got to Half Moon Bay, they started off at the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. From there, Alex had mentioned figuring out where they should have dinner, which seemed a bit odd to Justine since it was only 2pm but she started looking up ideas anyways. He then mentioned going to Pigeon Point Lighthouse, since he knew it was something Justine had been wanting to see. She mentioned that it was over an hour drive and Alex replied with, "I don't have anywhere to be!" So they set off for the lighthouse. When they got there, they went to a little path with the lighthouse behind them and tried to take some selfies but it was really windy. They then went to another part overlooking the ocean. After that, Alex decided he wanted to go back to the pathway they were recently on but wanted to wait for it to clear out. Justine finally said, "we've just gotta make our way out there or we'll never get over there!" When they got there, Alex gave Justine his phone to take a selfie. She held it up but only saw herself in view, she turned around to see where he was and found him on one knee. They both paused and looked at each other for a minute, before he finally uttered the words, "will you marry me?" Justine cried and said, "yes!" It was the perfect proposal!
