Our story goes all the way back to September of 2012 when Alex moved from Ohio to Southold. We always shared the same groups of friends, but there was nothing romantic between us. Alex was the DJ at Julia’s “sweet sixteen.” But, again, there was nothing romantic between us. When Julia went to Quinnipiac for college (along with Best Man, Dylan), Alex visited a lot. He visited so often that he could probably describe the Quinnipiac campus better than some of the students there. But, again, there was nothing romantic between us. Fast forward to July of 2021. Alex had been living in South Carolina for a couple years and it was time for Julia to go visit her good friend who she hadn’t seen in two years. After spending a week together, along with two of our close friends, something had changed. All of a sudden, there was something romantic between us. Some might have called us crazy for starting a relationship, knowing that it was going to be long-distance for the majority of three years, but we wanted to give it a try. After three years, we can confidently say that every second was worth it.
