Alex and Julianne first met on December 16, 2023 — the day of her older sister Allison’s wedding. As fate would have it, Allison was marrying one of Alex’s good friends, Alex Hagenbuch. The two found themselves seated at the same table for the after-hours portion of the celebration, where Julianne was highly entertained by Alex’s drunken antics and his enthusiastic attempts to “sell himself” to her. At the end of the night, they went their separate ways. Little did Julianne know, Alex had already texted Allison saying, “I <3 Juju.” Over the next several months, Alex continued spending time with the Hagenbuchs. Without fail, Allison would remind him that Julianne was still single and that he should “shoot his shot.” Julianne, of course, was hearing the same encouragement from the other side. Finally, on the evening of July 4, 2024, Alex made his move. He messaged Julianne on Instagram: “Hola mamacita. Heard you’re looking for a dog dad.” The timing couldn’t have been better — Julianne was (1) single and (2) the proud new owner of an eight-week-old Golden Retriever puppy named Cali. How could she not respond? Messaging quickly turned into texting (although Julianne did wait about a week after Alex gave her his number before sending that first text), and before long, they had their first date at Stone Mad Pub, just down the street from Julianne’s apartment in Gordon Square. They hit it off immediately, and one date quickly turned into many more. From that point on, everything seemed to fall perfectly into place — just as it was meant to. Since then, they’ve shared endless love, laughter, and memories, and they cannot wait to celebrate their next chapter together on November 7, 2026.
