Alex and John's love story appropriately began half-way between the Jersey Shore and Long Island at a mutual friend's birthday brunch in New York City. They immediately hit it off at the party where get-to-know-you chit chat quickly turned into drinks and dancing. When they headed to a friend's rooftop for pizza, Alex and John shared their first kiss overlooking a view of the city. To this day, John claims his impressive rhythm on the dance floor won Alex over. She insists it was the unlimited mimosas.
Weeks later, John finally gathered the courage to ask Alex on their first date. He ventured all the way to Sea Bright from Long Island to pick on appetizers to "keep it casual" (even though they were both starving). Conversation came easy. They were thrilled to learn they had a lot in common. Love was in the air. Soon, the journey over the George Washington Bridge became a regular commitment that lasted for years until Mr. "Johnny Long Island" followed his heart to the Jersey Shore to live with his partner in crime.
It was a clear day in March when John proposed during sunset on a boardwalk overlooking the ocean. If you looked close enough from the beach, you could make out the skyline of the city where they first met.
