Haley and Alex’s story began at the Amerikick Nationals in 2016 in Philadelphia. They were just 12 and 13 years old when Haley’s step-dad, Hakim, introduced them. Haley was in the middle of teaching a private lesson when Alex walked up, politely asked if she could watch his weapons form, and see if she had any tips. From that moment, Haley was impressed — and a connection quietly sparked. They became instant best friends, the kind of friends who talked constantly, supported each other, and slowly realized their “friendship” had a little something extra. Over the years, Alex showed his feelings in the sweetest ways: candy baskets every Valentine’s Day, plush toys, and, of course, Haley’s favorite… Peep marshmallows. After the world slowed down during COVID and life shifted, they finally took a chance on each other in 2021. From that moment on, everything felt easy, natural, and filled with the magic they’d been building since those early tournament days. Now, after years of friendship, growth, and love, they’re ready to begin forever — side by side. 💕
