We met back in high school at the Chick-fil-A where we both worked. We attended different schools and worked opposite schedules but we still managed to become friends through the limited time we did work together.
Over the course of the next 6 or so years, Alex brought up the idea of a relationship a few times. Unfortunately, I (Grace), was not on the same page. We went our separate ways, off to different colleges, but reconnected our senior years at a conference in Atlanta, GA. Later that year, after graduating and moving back home, I invited Alex to join my church. We were able to stay good friends (thanks to another relationship rejection by me and incredible patience by Alex) and remain relatively well connected to one another.
It wasn't until late summer 2025 on another trip to South Africa that I got the nerve to text Alex and propose to him the idea of a relationship. We went on a date as soon as I got back and it has been smooth-sailing from that point on! Since we were able to skip the "getting-to-know-you" stage, we dove into the deep conversations and growth early on and by October I was showing him rings! Alex proposed on February 7th, 2026 at the top of Crowder's mountain and we are excited to start our forever together November 5th of this same year.
