FAQs

The Wedding Website of Gabrielle Dawes and Alex Mills
Fun Fact: Our venue was originally built as the church for the movie The Last Song with Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth. After filming, Disney gifted the chapel to Tybee Island. The pews and the piano inside are the very same ones used in the movie.
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Attire is black tie optional. Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a suit or tuxedo, while ladies may choose a floor-length or midi formal dress. Light-colored dresses are encouraged.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors at the same venue, so no travel will be required between events. The venue is also wheelchair accessible and includes ramps for convenience.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’ve included our recommended hotel accommodations, along with discount codes, in the Travel section of our website. We encourage guests to book early to secure the best available rates! Many of our guests are also choosing to stay in local Airbnbs throughout the Tybee Island and Savannah areas, which can be a great option for groups or longer stays.

Question

What is the color scheme of the wedding?

Answer

Our wedding will feature a soft, romantic garden-inspired palette with pastel pinks and light blues throughout. The bridesmaids will be wearing light pink, while the groomsmen will wear black tuxedos.

Question

Is parking available at the venue?

Answer

Yes, parking is available at the venue; however, spaces may be somewhat limited. We encourage guests to carpool when possible and plan ahead for transportation, especially if you are staying farther from the venue. We will also be hosting an open bar during the celebration, so we kindly ask everyone to celebrate responsibly. Please consider arranging a designated driver or planning to use a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft to ensure a safe and easy trip home for all guests.

Question

Can I take pictures during the wedding ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that all phones and cameras remain off during the ceremony. Afterwards, we would love for you to take and share as many photos as you’d like!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We absolutely adore children, but after much thought, we’ve decided to make our wedding an adults-only celebration, with the exception of children in our immediate families. We hope this allows everyone to relax, celebrate, and enjoy the evening with us. If this presents any difficulties, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Alex or Gabi.
