It began with a first date that went totally wrong. Alex had reserved a sushi restaurant on the upper west side and arrived at the location 45 minutes early only to end up 15 minutes late. NYC couldn't give a parking spot that day instead there were hungry cops and "NO STANDING" sign. Despite rough start, they both had fun time. During our first date, Eunie had mentioned that her friends pushed her to use the app while she was reluctant, she allowed herself to give 3 chances. Alex just happened to be date number 3, and he wasn’t going to throw away his shot. One day Alex took Eunie to a milonga club where he taught her his love of Argentinian tango. To his surprise, she naturally picked up the dance quickly and they danced the night away in happiness and excitement. From that point, Alex realized that his heart couldn’t let her go. He knew she was the ONE. Then the pandemic shutdown happened in NYC and they were separated for a long while. But not even the pandemic would keep them apart for long. Alex would drive 100 miles out to visit Eunie. There was no telling when it would be the last time he would see her. So he did his best to make every date count as if it were his last. One summer day they went hiking in the woods. Alex held her hand, and told her how he figured out why the Bible would compare heaven to a pearl. He explained that it wasn’t until he met her that he understood that being with her was the closest thing he had to heaven, and he would trade everything he had just to be with her. Eunie seemed conflicted as her plan was to move back to California where she grew up. But that made Alex even more determined to be with her. Alex studied for his CPJE many months. One day with a double rainbow and a turtle crossing, he found out he passed. They were in celebratory bliss. Their love for each other grew sweeter each day. They traveled back to Montauk to revisit the World’s End where he finally proposed and she said yes! And the rest is history.
