In January 2014 I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do the beginner Crossfit course at a gym in Falmouth I found online. Little did I know, James had decided to move from his current Crossfit gym to a new one in Falmouth since it was closer to home. We both became regulars of the 6pm class and so started our friendship. Me, James, and a few others quickly realized we liked hanging out with each other outside of the gym and started doing other things as a group. This is where James and I soon found our "like" for each other was more than a friendship. Finally, one year later, in January of 2015, we both decided to take the plunge and "officially" become a couple.
After almost 5 "official" years of being together - James and I decided to go to the Alexander Family condo at Sugarloaf for a nice fall weekend getaway. We planned to hike and hang out, just take a relaxing break. On Saturday we packed up a bag with only the essentials - wine and cookies that is, and decided to take a leisurely hike up and around the trails on the mountain. After telling James on the way up that his backpack held all the motivation I needed to keep moving up the mountain (not even knowing it was holding a ring) we landed on what happens to be my favorite trail, to break and enjoy the view. We talked and laughed for awhile when James pulled the ring out of his backpack and asked me to marry him! I excitedly exclaimed "YES" and then we enjoyed trying to take nice mountain selfies to show off our engagement. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See in you Sebago!
As we’re sure you can imagine, we have been closely monitoring COVID and how it will impact our wedding plans.
