Bride
Mya Ann Hurley is my best friend and my bride to be. She's the greatest person I know, she has her faults but not a single one of them has ever made me question the love I feel for her. Her faults are actually one of my favorite things about her as she is so genuinely herself that she can't help but mess up sometimes but she is quick with an apology and to make wrongs right. She has gone through plenty of hardships and challenges all of which she expertly navigated and conquered each one, when we first met she was in the middle of Medic schooling and I knew it would be no problem and she proved me right. disguising her frustrations with a perfect smile she'd work her shift then go to school and barely have time in between all of that to eat, workout, or sleep. It was a miracle I was able to squeeze into her schedule where I could and I wouldn't change it for anything, I guarantee that neither one of us knows how many meals I've cooked or picked up and drove over an hour just to make sure she would eat. we would and I shit you not hand her food watch a YouTube video then I'd be sent home to make another hour drive so I could sleep 3-4 hours before my morning shift. She's the column that keeps my house from collapsing on the worst days, I've never felt so encouraged in all aspects of my life before. I wake up every morning looking forward to my days because I get to experience them with her, I am my happiest when I am with her. If you're reading this you're important to us.
Groom
I believe that John James Alexander and I were meant to find each other. I now know what it feels like to have your other half. I am unafraid of the future knowing he will always be by my side. I am unafraid to be my true self. The joy I feel when I am with my best friend is indescribable. John is kind, selfless, and always understanding. I sometimes have trouble finding the words to describe my love because I have never felt this way about another person. There’s no one else on this earth I would rather build my future with. I fell in love with John as soon as we met, but I was cautious and afraid of love. He helped me take down my walls and I am forever grateful. He is always helping me better myself. Maid of Honor
Brooke is my younger and only sibling. She is younger than me by 7 years, but I’ve almost never noticed the age gap because of our similarities. It means the world to me knowing she will be by my side during the wedding day, but also in life! Brooke, I am grateful for the closeness of our relationship. We seldom disagree and we always inspire each other. That makes our relationship truly special! You know I’m not much for words and I try to be more than nonchalant, but I love you! And I cannot wait to share these special life moments with you! John’s message: Thank you Brooke for being the younger sibling I never had. You are truly a great sibling, Mya talks about you more than you know. She’ll always be proud of you and of your accomplishments. You were the second person I asked when I was asking your family’s permission to marry Mya, As I knew your opinion mattered deeply to Mya and she strives to lead her life in a way that you can look up to and be proud of her as well.
Best Man
Jason is My second oldest brother, but for as long as I can remember he's been my best friend. Jason has had such a huge role in shaping me and my interest in life. He sparked my interest in reading, firearms, anime, and a passion for history. He has seen me in my lowest points and help me raise to my highest points in life; he was the first person I talked to about Mya. he knew about her before I went on my first date with her and he was the first person I talked to after my first date with her. He always encouraged our relationship from the 1st date and I'm so thankful for him to be my best man on my wedding day. Mya’s message: John is very lucky to have you as an older brother. You’ve always been in his corner when he needed someone. And likewise he has been there for you. The love you share is special. I cannot wait to call you my brother (I already do haha).
Bridesman
Sam is one of my closest friends! We met in high school, sharing time in band and theater together! We spent our summers together and countless hours at the local sonic, sitting in the bed of Sam’s truck just talking about life. Sam knows how to hype me up and has been a huge supporter in my life. I’m so fortunate to have such a loving and wonderful friend!
Groomsman
Nathan is My 3rd oldest brother and is only 2 years older than me, being so close in age meant we fought a lot growing up. That means we've also have made up a lot. some of my favorite memories with Nathan was when we were attending high school at the same time and we'd get Chinese at our favorite take out place golden rice. seems generic but we fought a lot and often times us making up was just getting food together and talking for hours and going home and playing games together.
Bridesman
Casey and I met in high school, and we were practically inseparable! Funnily enough we discovered we had been living only a mile or so away from each other for years. We are always on the same wavelength and understand the other without even having to say anything. I’m grateful he is a part of my life!
Groomsman
Alek Smitka was the first friend I made in the 2nd grade when I transferred to Nativity of Mary Private school. I can't think of a time that Alek and I weren't friends. His family is like a second family to me with how much time I've spent in their house, truly an amazing family; we've been inseparable from the moment we met; I think our favorite past time together is going to thrift stores and finding the worst cd's we can find then listening to them and ranking them. Besides that, we also love playing retro games together.
Bridesman
Phoenix and I met while working at ZipKC together! Though we’ve been friends for a just a handful of years, it feels like we’ve known each other longer. We clicked immediately through our sarcastic humor and laid back personalities. I’m so fortunate to call him a friend and I know we’ll always have each others backs!
Groomsman
John Paul Jackson or as I have called him since the day I met him, just Jackson. Jackson and I have been through a lot together, we've spent so many nights staying up and talking about what's going on in our lives. Any time one of us needed someone to talk to we'd hop on our PlayStation and invite each other to play Rainbow six siege or call of duty and we'd play until 3am until finally we'd start falling asleep at the mic. Jackson and his partner Danielle are the best couple we know, we love having double dates with them. They are truly made for each other and I am so grateful to have them in our lives.
