We met while working together at Eat Club, exchanging information about recipes and portion sizes for the next dish being prepared. We quickly became close friends and bonded over work challenges, food appreciation and shared birthdays. Over time Alex was brought out to the West Coast for work and conversations at work turned into after work drinks, then into dinner and movies, a dog, a dumpling business and eventually choosing to spend our lives together.

I had prepped for months for the ideal proposal to Will, I sought out and received blessings from her family, planned a trip and picked out a (almost) perfect ring to propose with. Celebrating our 2 year anniversary, we took a trip to Oahu where I eventually proposed. I wrote Will a card with everything I was going to say so that she would be able to follow along and not forget everything I had to say. I staged a film setup to "capture the sunset" and asked Will to turn around and face me. As I gave her the card, quietly out of her mouth came the words "no, no, no", completely shocked by the moment that was before her. Eventually I was able to get a "yes" out of her when I asked her to marry me!

Will has a gentle determination that she applies to all aspects of life, whether its work, our relationship, or friendships, she isn't one to throw in the towel when the going gets tough. She reminds me of how good life can be when it is done together in partnership. Her bright smile, eager joy and thousand kiss goodbyes every morning before work are the simplest pleasures in this life. I look forward to a life together full of adventure and memories to be made hand in hand and side by side.

He is nice, Like fine wine or jasmine rice. Damn! What a man that I have, To call my own and share a home. He is strong yet gentle, Always reassures me when I go mental. I can't wait to live life forever with him, Maybe one day he'll successfully drag me to the gym. On March 18th I look forward to marrying Alex, You'll see, I'll be crying as if I were slicing shallots. He truly is the best partner I could ask for, Goji and I will love him forevermore.
