Sarah and Alex first met at a birthday party during their undergrad days - Sarah's 21st birthday party, to be exact. Alex was in town, visiting UNC for medical school, and his sister invited him to Sarah's party. Little did Alex know that he would meet his future bride-to-be that night. While they were introduced briefly, Sarah played hard to get. It was not until the following year when Alex was enrolled at UNC that they began their dating adventure. Four years of endless laughs, movie nights, late-night dessert runs, and travels together have led them to their wedding day! Timing is truly God's gift, and they reconnected at the most perfect time.

Alex and Sarah got engaged at a special place in Emerald Isle, NC. Sarah grew up visiting her grandparent’s cottage there, and Alex knew he wanted their engagement to happen in a place they could forever revisit. Alex had arranged for close friends and family to surprise Sarah on the beach after he proposed, and his plans for the ultimate surprise almost went off without a hitch. As he urged her to go on a romantic walk before dinner, she took a few steps into the sand and of course caught on, repeatedly saying, "Are you proposing to me?!" Nonetheless, Alex pulled the proposal off like a champ, and they captured the most precious moment in front of rose petals on the Carolina shoreline. Emerald Isle will always have our hearts!
