Her Story

Alex and I met in May of 2024… after several months of me absolutely refusing to meet him because I had officially declared myself done with dating. (Dramatic? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely.) Eventually, I waved the white flag and told him, “Okay, I’m done being difficult…you can take me on a date now.” We started texting, then about a week later we FaceTimed… and basically never stopped. We FaceTimed every single day and texted nonstop until we finally met in person on May 26th, 2024. We hit it off immediately, but I’m pretty sure we both officially fell in love while standing in his kitchen, singing country music at the top of our lungs like two main characters in a rom-com. Since the day we met, I’ve been on cloud nine, and honestly, I never want to come back down. In what feels like the blink of an eye, we’ve done all the things: bought a camper, moved in together, got dogs, bought a house, got engaged… and now we’re getting married!!! Alex is truly my best friend, my safe place, my favorite person, and the love of my life. I can’t imagine how I ever did life without him by my side and I’m so excited to spend forever with my favorite human. 🤍

His Story

We matched on Hinge, but Sami didn’t exactly rush things. Instead of texting consistently, she’d Snap me from Disneyland while I Snap’d her back from my couch… watching Harry Potter (again). She’d ask why I watched Harry Potter all the time, and I’d ask why she went to Disneyland all the time, clearly we both had our comfort zones. After two months of patience on my end, Sami finally sent the text I’d been waiting for: “Okay, I’m ready to go on a date with you now.” From that point on, we talked every day for about a week or two before planning our first date. A week before we met in person, we FaceTimed for about four hours straight each night and then finally, it was time to meet face to face. We grabbed a drink and ended up at a pool hall. While we were there, we stepped outside, Sami dropped something, and when I bent down to pick it up for her… I pretended to propose. On one knee. On our first date. Of course, a random guy nearby thought he had just witnessed a real engagement and excitedly ran over to congratulate us after snapping a video. I had to break the news that it was only our first date and politely ask him to delete it. Not exactly how I imagined our engagement story starting… but looking back, it was the perfect preview of the fun, unexpected life we were about to build together and I wouldn’t have any other way.
