Do I need a visa to come to Australia? Most U.S. passport holders need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority). It’s a simple online application done before your trip. Make sure to download the Australian ETA App from your App Store. (See the travel section above for details.)

If possible, we recommend arriving at least 2 days before the wedding to adjust to the time difference and recover from travel.
Sydney is typically 15–17 hours ahead of the U.S. depending on the season and where you live. Your body clock will notice.
Nope! Most guests won’t need one. But if you do, please note: Sydney drives on the left side of the road. Parking can be difficult and expensive. Road laws are very strict. Even 1km over the speed limit can result in a hefty fine. Uber and public transportation are easy and reliable. Rental cars are mainly useful if you’re planning day trips outside the city.
Most U.S. phones work in Australia. You can use your carrier’s international plan, get an eSIM, or buy a SIM card at the airport. You can also connect to WiFi at most places.
It can get quite hot in Sydney, but in September expect comfortable days and cooler evenings. Bring a light jacket, especially for nighttime events.
Sydney is pretty relaxed and stylish-casual. Think comfortable, breathable, and easy to walk in.
