Question

RSVP

Answer

Please RSVP before July 25th, 2026.

Question

Visa to Enter Australia

Answer

Do I need a visa to come to Australia? Most U.S. passport holders need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority). It’s a simple online application done before your trip. Make sure to download the Australian ETA App from your App Store. (See the travel section above for details.)

Question

Accommodations

Answer

You can stay at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, where our reception will be held, using our discount codes to receive 20% off. WEDA: Room only (no breakfast included) WEDB: Room with breakfast included You can also book any other hotels in the central city area. Airbnb's are also an option, though they may be a bit further from the venues.

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

If possible, we recommend arriving at least 2 days before the wedding to adjust to the time difference and recover from travel.

Question

What’s the time difference?

Answer

Sydney is typically 15–17 hours ahead of the U.S. depending on the season and where you live. Your body clock will notice.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Nope! Most guests won’t need one. But if you do, please note: Sydney drives on the left side of the road. Parking can be difficult and expensive. Road laws are very strict. Even 1km over the speed limit can result in a hefty fine. Uber and public transportation are easy and reliable. Rental cars are mainly useful if you’re planning day trips outside the city.

Question

Will my phone work?

Answer

Most U.S. phones work in Australia. You can use your carrier’s international plan, get an eSIM, or buy a SIM card at the airport. You can also connect to WiFi at most places.

Question

What’s the weather like?

Answer

It can get quite hot in Sydney, but in September expect comfortable days and cooler evenings. Bring a light jacket, especially for nighttime events.

Question

What should I wear around the city?

Answer

Sydney is pretty relaxed and stylish-casual. Think comfortable, breathable, and easy to walk in.
