I woke up at the age of 24-normal rotation of my schedule: the “work hard, play hard” life. I was focused and had plans, a check list. One afternoon this young woman comes in the store; I had noticed her few times before speaking to her but no more than “Hi, how are you?” and “Bye.” I didn’t think much of it but on this particular day she wore a bright orange dress and I was wearing red (which isn’t anything new if u know me). I called her pumpkin and she flashed this beautiful smile and called me apple. We both laughed went on with our lives. Coincidentally, this young lady happened to be my best friend’s little sister’s best friend, and I thought “wow, small world.” As years passed, we had small conversations and became fairly close. I mean someone I had opened up to, told secrets to. She made it so easy to open up. One afternoon I had to ask her, “Why don’t you wanna be more then my friend?” We both had been dealing with issues in other relationships. But she told me, “No, you’re my best friend,” which wasn’t an accurate answer but I thought I’ll keep after her, and one day she’ll give in because we were close already. Not sure what happened, but after years (3 to be exact) of flirting and getting shut down to being just a friend, I get this phone call. It was different; I thought I was dreaming, but what I always imagined was happening right then. I had my shot, my chance, so I took it. I figured if I fixed all my mistakes and used my knowledge in this relationship (which turned out to be the best, the bomb diggity), happiness wouldn’t be far. Fast forward to the present day, and after so much we’re 2 people who in the beginning had no clue would be friends, let alone be together as we are now getting married. We are loving each other more and more after each day, having the best bond, the best fun and it’s truly amazing. All I can say is the Lord looked out for me and I’m blessed with a beautiful Queen and to top it off she’s my best friend.

I met the love of my life at 14 years old. Meeting him at that age I had no clue he would be my other half 7 years later. In about 4 years our bond would grow from associate to friend, to best friend. At best friend is where I’d always try and leave it, but he was persistent. But he also respected my wishes for remaining friends (when I tell y’all this man is patient. I mean what man do you know waits in the background for ANYONE for 3 years). But I was afraid, not of him but of what our relationship would turn into if it didn’t work. I’d be loosing my human diary, my best friend, the only person who knows me inside and out. So I prayed about it, friends and family who knew about our friendship/relationship started to point out things he’d do for me ( I figured that was the sign from GOD) Eventually I gave in and “tried” us out, he promised me nothing would change but our title. Lol he lied. From the minute I told him I’d be his girlfriend until this very moment being his soon to be wife, he’d began treating me like a Queen. I never knew you could love a person so much. I am truly blessed and grateful to have him.
