Alex and Michelle were first introduced to each other through mutual friends (thanks Val & Brandeon) in high school. After getting to know each other for a couple of months, for some reason, they lost contact. Neither one of them remembers why. Fast forward 7 years, their friend, Brandeon mentioned to Alex that he should reach out to Michelle given she was not dating anyone. Alex messaged Michelle on Facebook and instantly Michelle was reminded of their high school days. Ever since then they have been inseparable.
I always knew the day I proposed to Michelle I wanted it to be a special day. What better day than her birthday. We typically go on vacations for each other's birthday and the year I proposed we chose to visit Aruba. This was a much anticipated trip due to the fact that Michelle thought she would be proposed but didn't exactly know when. We had just moved into our new home and the timing seemed inevitable at this point. After being on the island for 4 days, Michelle started to become impatient with the suspected proposal. This includes multiple soft interrogations leading up to the proposal on her birthday. Finally on the 6th day of the trip, Michelle's birthday, the day had come she had been waiting for. For dinner that night, I rented a cabana at a very nice restaurant on the beach to celebrate her birthday. On the way to the cabana, I took Michelle on a stroll along the beach. During the walk, I asked Michelle to look up at the stars and make a wish, and of course, Michelle wished for me to propose to her. I then asked her to turn around so she could see her wish being fulfilled. Kneeling and holding her ring you would think the question would come next, but I think I froze and Michelle had to remind me to ask. Of course Michelle said yes and the proposal could not have been any more perfect.
