Our Story

After an entire year of being matched on a dating app and following each other social media, Alex and Michelle decided it was finally time to get together and give it a shot. They first met on November 12, 2017 after Michelle and her mother went to see the Broadway show ‘Beautiful.’ After the show, Michelle told her mother she was going to meet someone for drinks quickly before seeing her friends. Of course, Michelle’s mother started asking all of the typical mom questions which were immediately shut down – “Relax mom, I’ll probably be over it in a week.” Michelle met Alex at a bar in Midtown where he was hanging out with his friend. Not your typical first date–if you want to call it that, but it made sense for these 2, given the circumstances. Michelle was immediately attracted to Alex’s infectious smile and Alex knew right away that he wanted to see Michelle again, this time for a real date. They said goodbye and made plans to meet for a night out by Michelle’s apartment in Bushwick. That second night they shared stories of their past, plans for their future, and lots of laughs. They played connect 4 at the local bar, “Pizza Party” where Alex didn’t let Michelle win, not even once! Michelle loved that Alex was already ready to challenge her. They consistently spent time together for the next month, and then Michelle invited him to spend New Year’s Eve with her family. That’s when it was pretty clear things were about to get serious, as this was very out of character for Michelle. Everyone knew immediately that Alex was the one for Michelle, and he fit right in with the family, like he had always been a part. That night, while only in each other’s lives for a short period of time, Alex told Michelle that one day he would make her his wife. She knew it too, that from then on, it would always be the 2 of them. Fast forward only a year and about a week from the day they met, and the 2 got engaged to be married, in none other than the most magical of places, Paris.
