To understand our story you first have to know two things about Maddie. 1. Her Papa (grandpa) was her absolute best friend who passed away about 14 years ago. 2. She’s always believed butterflies have been a sign or visit from him and loved ones who have passed away. Now for the story. When Maddie & Alex had started talking about their future together and the subject of marriage came up, Maddie had requested Alex ask for her Papa’s blessing. She knew this was an arbitrary request but she made it anyways. Alex had, through prayer, asked for her Papas blessing. Asked him for a sign. The day of the proposal came and Alex wasn’t sure he had truly ever received that sign. Maddie and Alex were walking around Chicago near Navy Pier and Alex was waiting for the right place to appear when he saw the butterfly house. I’m sure you can fill in the rest but we will tell you anyways. Alex got down on one knee there inside the butterfly house. It was the perfect sign and perfect place to start this new journey together.
