We both grew up in Rochester, NY and attended the Clarkson University class of 2015. Surprisingly it wasn’t until most of the way through our Junior year that Kristen and I finally met at a small restaurant in Potsdam. That Friday night Kristen was trying to win a bet with her friend that he couldn’t high five everyone in the restaurant. My friend (now groomsman) Matt, and I were the only two holdouts. Afterwards, Kristen and I exchanged numbers and it all started from there. Kris and I will be celebrating five years of dating in February 2020 and have enjoyed going on many adventures together. Some of my favorites have been camping in the Adirondacks (even in the bitter cold), Kristen teaching me how to downhill ski, playing volleyball together, and hiking in Colorado, Connecticut, and New York.
Alex and I were planning on going on a ski trip to Swain to celebrate Valentine’s day and our 4th anniversary of dating. Alex convinced me that we should spend a bit extra money to stay overnight even though the mountain is only about an hour away. We stayed at a beautiful cabin right next to the chairlifts. On Saturday morning we hit the slopes for a while and then Alex said that he had to go do something in the cabin and told me to keep skiing. I went on a couple more runs down the mountain when I saw him at the bottom of the trail. We decided to go back to the cabin to apparently “relax for a little bit and grab a drink”. On our way in the door he had set up one of our favorite songs to start playing and I looked down and he was on one knee. In the background of the cabin he had set up a beautiful sign that said "Kristen, Will You Marry Me?". It was a perfect day and the perfect proposal! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
