Unique Events At Our Reception…

This isn’t so much a question with an answer, it’s more of an announcement. As the bride, I was greatly opposed to doing the traditional “cake smash” after we cut our cake BUT… I found an idea that I think is phenomenal. At our reception we are going to have two jars. One with Alex’s name, and one with mine. Whoever’s jar gets the least amount of money (by dollar value) gets the cake smashed in their face. So I’m going to have faith in my family to have my back, and we’re going to have tons of fun.

Who can I bring?

Answer

Invitations will include all of those invited to the event. Please do not bring additional guests unless your invitation says “plus one”, indicating that you can bring one extra non-specified guest. If you bring a guest who is not listed your invitation, we cannot promise a seat for them or a meal. This is not to be rude, it is only so we are sure of our number of guests and seating arrangements.

Can I bring my kiddos?

Answer

If your kiddos are on your invitation you are welcome to bring them! If they aren’t on your invite and you’d like to bring them just contact one of us and we will see if that’s doable with our venue space. Just please remember this is an adult event and there will be alcohol so be sure to keep an eye on them.

Reception Meal?

Answer

We will be doing a “potluck” style reception. This means that guests will be asked to bring a covered dish of some kind. There will be a sign up sheet going around at some point and we will update the website when we know what food will be available.

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Our reception will be BYOB and you are welcome to drink. But if you do not have a designated driver or do not know how to behave civilly at the reception, we are asking you not to drink. We have witnessed too many receptions be interrupted by people causing a scene or attempting to drive under the influence. That type of behavior will not be tolerated at our wedding. Thank you for understanding.

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Gifts are optional! If you’re wanting to bring one or even just give cash, our Zola and Amazon registries are linked on this website. There will also be a place for gifts/cards/money at the reception.

What if I don’t Like My Seat?

Answer

A rough guess of who will be at each table will be posted at some point before the wedding, and we are willing to listen to reasonable requests. BUT, we can make no promise that we will be able to adjust to your exact wishes. We are at our max number of tables and each table is nearly filled to the max. Please remember that the tables are just for the meal and you are welcome and encouraged to move about during the rest of the reception.
