Travel Note
Please note that for guests travelling from the UK, in order to enter or transit through the USA, you must have an Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) - you can apply for this with the "view" button below. At the time of writing it costs $21 if you do it directly via the ESTA website. Once your ESTA is approved, it’s valid for two years and you can make multiple trips back to America during this time without having to reapply (so if you already have an ESTA make sure it will be valid by 22 February 2026).
Travel Note
On arrival in Boston, the easiest way to get into the city is to take the silver line T to South Station and connect to the red line for your onward journey in the city - to reach the green line connect at Park Street having changed onto the red at South Station. There is also free shuttle bus from outside arrivals to the Airport T Station. The 22, 33, 55, 66 are the shuttle buses to take. From here you take the Blue Line into Boston and continue your onward journey. You can order an Uber too though from the airport of course.
Travel Note
The T is one of the best ways to get around Boston and operates a ticketing system similar to the Underground in London. You can either buy a Charlie Card at a station that sells them and load it with dollars to then use tapping at entry gates, or you can also pay your fare with Contactless payment by tapping your contactless debit/credit card, phone, or watch with a mobile wallet on bus and subway. There's also the CharlieTicket, a tappable ticket that can be loaded with subway, bus, Commuter Rail, and ferry tickets or passes and is useful for travellers.
