On a snowy January night, we met at a dinner with friends at Peacefood Cafe in the Upper West Side of New York City. Our mutual friend, Alma Malambo, had encouraged Charis to reach out, grab Iko's number and ask him out to get to know him. A week later, we both agreed to grab a cup of coffee after work. We spent over an hour sharing about our lives, passions, history, love of God, and of course, love of coffee. We enjoyed that time so much, we decided to continue the night with dinner at Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum Restaurant. As we enjoyed pork buns and congee, we shared about our families, values, and dreams. It was clear by the end of that first "date" that we knew there was something more than just a friendship.
