Alex and Caley met on July 3, 2018, when Alex interviewed Caley for a new role. His first words? “Please forgive me if I’m not fully awake yet—I’ve usually had my second cup of coffee by now.” It was only 8 a.m., and Caley immediately thought he might be a little crazy… but in a charming way. From the beginning, they connected over their shared sense of humor, wit, work ethic, and love for adventure. Caley was officially sold when she met Alex’s dog, Harlow—now very much her baby (lovingly known as “Lito”). Together for seven years, dating for five, and engaged for two, Alex and Caley have built a life filled with travel, live music, dive bars, hidden food gems, and lots of walks—whether around their neighborhood or exploring new cities with no plan at all. They play golf regularly, binge-watch everything from classic sitcoms to reality TV, and somehow manage to survive (and enjoy) each other’s obsessions—Alex with Magic and Runescape, and Caley with Notre Dame Water Polo traditions, workout classes, and all things Bravo. Alex proposed in Tokyo, Japan, after a romantic dinner at the Park Hyatt Hotel (yes, that Park Hyatt from Lost In Translation). Despite Caley’s aching feet from her heels, he insisted they walk through the park. As they approached a quiet fountain under a single glowing light post, Alex got down on one knee. Moments later, Caley’s sister, Alex’s two brothers, and some of their closest friends popped out from the bushes to celebrate in a surprise finale worthy of a rom-com. They bring out the best in each other—pushing each other outside their comfort zones, balancing each other’s strengths and quirks, and always laughing along the way. They can’t wait to begin the next chapter together and celebrate with the people they love most.
