Pat's or Geno's?! Pat's, who is credited as the first place in the US to sell cheesesteaks, was the first steak shop in Philly. Across the street is Geno's, also known for their cheesesteaks. The two shops have a said rivalry and every Philadelphian will have an opinion as to who makes the best cheesesteaks! However, Jim's Steaks, Ishkabibble's (both located on South Street), and Steve's Prince of Steaks (located on 16th & Chestnut) are all contenders.
