FAQs

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We kindly ask that you don’t bring a plus one unless they were included on your invite. Our reception space is limited, so we’ve kept the guest list to the people we truly love and want to celebrate with. If you think we might’ve made a mistake, feel free to reach out—we’d be happy to check!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP on this website no later than August 20th.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We recommend staying at the Oceanfront Lodge for its convenient location near the reception site—and, of course, the beach! There are also plenty of great Airbnb options in the area, along with some incredible campgrounds. One of our all-time favorites is Jedediah Smith Campground, nestled right in the heart of the redwoods.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Instead of traditional gifts, we’re kindly asking for contributions toward our honeymoon. On this website, you’ll find a variety of funds—like a night's stay at the hotel, funds to help with a rental car, and fancy dinners out—that will help us make the most of our honeymoon adventure. We will savory every second of this combined honeymoon and babymoon before our babes arrive in February.

Question

Where should I park for the ceremony?

Answer

Parking at the ceremony site, Stout Grove, is limited. Additional parking can be found along Howland Hill Road and in a lot on the left-hand side as you enter the park. From there, it’s about a half-mile walk to Stout Grove, either along the trail or following Howland Hill Road. We highly encourage guests to carpool from the hotel or from the Forks River Access and Boat Ramp off South Fork Road to help ease congestion and make parking easier for everyone.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 12pm (or earlier) in order to allow for time to park and walk to the ceremony site. We will begin the ceremony at 12:30, and you are encouraged to walk around Stout Grove to and admire the giants until we begin. We will wrap up the ceremony festivities around 2pm and reconvene at 4pm for dinner and libations at SeaQuake Brewing. As a note, this location is public and is not an officially designated venue. When you walk down the paved road toward the grove, continue straight and you will see a wooden deck on the right-hand side.

Question

How long will we be at the cermony site?

Answer

The ceremony will be short and sweet, after which we’ll take a short walk—about 1/8 of a mile—down to the Smith River bar. Wear walking shoes! If you’d like a seat, feel free to bring along a camping chair. Once there, we’ll enjoy light snacks and refreshments together. We plan to spend time by the river until around 1:30 p.m., before wrapping up. This will give everyone a chance to explore the park or relax back at their hotel before the reception begins at 4 p.m.

Question

Please note**

Answer

The ceremony site is not an official event venue, so please do not ask park rangers for directions to the ceremony itself. If you need guidance, you may ask for directions to Stout Grove or to the spot formerly known as the Wedding Tree (its name was changed two years ago). Please also avoid mentioning that you are attending a wedding, as ceremonies at this location are no longer permitted as of 2023.
