They met at their favorite cafe, "Rooted LKLD," and when Adina saw the back of Alex's head she adored his curls. After Adina was done speaking with the Rooted family a voice, God's voice, was nudging her to go sit in front of Alex and so she did. While Alex was working on his laptop he couldn't help, but notice her even though he was convincing himself to focus on work. Alex did see how beautiful Adina was but wanted to be professional and asked to see if he could help her with her business. Turns out there was a hidden business agenda that Alex didn't know he was getting into. Alex gave in and asked her if she needed help with her salon business. Adina was about to watch Love is Blind on Netflix until Alex interrupted her. She fell in love with the concept that Alex admired the relationship-building of business rather than the money. As they continued talking about their businesses, Adina remembered that she had to go meet a client so they exchanged contacts, and, well, the rest is history.
Adina wanted to rest, but Alex had other plans. Alex had the proposal all thought up to do it at the Sunken Gardens in St.Pete, but it wasn't going to be easy to convince Adina to go. Adina was working long days at the salon and wanted to rest after a long week on her feet. The first time Alex mentioned it she was worried about being sweaty, which was definitely going to happen, and not actually relaxing. The second time Alex mentioned having an awesome photoshoot at the botanical garden because Adina needed photos for her modeling portfolio. Adina understood but still wasn't sold. Now, After the third try of Alex consulting with Adina to go to the Sunken Gardens, she finally gave in and went with the plans. Yes, it was going to be hot and they were going to sweat, but it was gonna be worth it. Alex and Adina arrived at the Sunken Gardens, paid for their tickets, and had a blast shooting a photoshoot. They even made some friends along the way. Toward the end of the photoshoot, Alex was looking for this awesome bridge which there were pink flamingos next to it. It was a romantic scenery to take action on his masterminded proposal. After waiting for 10 minutes for the crowd to disperse, Alex led Adina to the bridge to shoot their "final shot." Alex wanted Adina to turn her back towards him for a movement shot where on the count of three she would turn around with her hair moving in the wind capturing the shot. Alex was ready, but not with a camera in his hands, but on one knee with his abuela's ring. Alex counted down, Adina turned around, and, behold, she was stunned and had no idea. Adina believes that Alex couldn't see her tears because of all the sweat, but he saw them with no problem. Adina, in her beautiful white summerly dress with her curly afro, said yes. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Winter Haven!
