Alex and Abbey met playing tennis, and ended up being doubles partners in a local mixed doubles league. Alex was immediately stunned by how incredibly beautiful Abbey was (and is) and begged her to marry him on the spot. It was only later that he fell even more deeply in love with her due to how badly she obliterated him at tennis (this has not stopped), and the manner in which she grossly outperforms him at every other athletic endeavor they pursue. It is an added bonus for him that she intellectually and cognitively outclasses him daily. Abbey fell in love with Alex's confidence, unwavering faith in Christ, and the way he shows intentionality towards her every day. Alex shows his love in a way that is wholly separate from the influence of the world, and continually and tenderly points Abbey back to what the Lord has called them to. It is a testament to the majesty of the Lord that she has not only found someone who suits her so so completely, but also that her back has not yet broken from the weight of carrying their doubles team to victory :)
