You can expect gentle paths through blooming rhododendrons, multiple waterfalls and serene ponds. You’ll see many ducklings and even the occasional bald eagle. Parking can be limited. It’s a good idea to go earlier. Abigail recommends going to Grand Central Bakery or Ottos Sausage Kitchen afterward.
It’s a 30 minute drive through the scenic Columbia River Gorge to one of the most iconic sites in Oregon. Worth it! While you’re out there, go take a peek at Latourell Falls, Abigail’s favorite fall. If you’re the hiking type, Upper Latourell Falls is quite special (you can walk behind it a bit).
Support a family-owned business, where you can get a BBQ sausage outside or order a sandwich inside at the deli. It’s a casual food option and one of the kids’ favorite food spots. We think you will like it, too!
If you need a coffee or a cold beverage right after you arrive at PDX (there is a drive thru). Abigail recommends a “small iced kicker” or an “iced americano with extra cream”.
This is a small rose garden within walking distance of the church. We often park over there when the church parking is full.
This is a nice Safeway around the corner from the church if you need something.
