In 2021 we were both living in San Francisco during the post-COVID era, a time when the city felt a little quieter, a little different, and everyone was trying to get back to “normal” life. Like many modern love stories, ours started online. Despite Cynthia’s nonexistent social media presence (a red flag for some, a green flag for Alex), he matched with her and thought she was the most beautiful girl. After a month of talking every day, and despite Alex’s below-average texting game, Cynthia finally agreed to meet him in person. That first date changed everything. We still talk about the way we felt the moment we set eyes on each other. Every ounce of nervousness disappeared, replaced with a warmth that made our hearts feel like they were smiling for the first time. We talked for hours, completely captivated with each other. After leaving the bar, we wandered up and down the streets of downtown San Francisco soaking up every moment, finding any excuse to keep the night going. Then fate stepped in. Alex walked Cynthia to her car… only to discover the parking garage had closed for the night, leaving her completely stranded (Alex insists it was part of his master plan). Ultimately, Cynthia ended up coming to his place while she waited for a friend to pick her up. That night we shared our first kiss and it became the beginning of our story. A few years later, we moved into a tiny 650 sq. ft North Beach apartment, where our relationship grew stronger than ever. Somehow, even in that little space of a home, we couldn’t get enough of each other. We found joy in the simplest moments, cuddling on the couch watching a movie, neighborhood walks, and cooking in the kitchen with music playing in the background. San Francisco gave us some of our favorite memories and friends, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. But in June 2025, we decided it was time for a new chapter and made the leap to sunny San Diego. Now we’re renting a beautiful home in North Park, surrounded by palm trees, good friends, and new places to explore. Over the years, our relationship has been built on a foundation of love, respect, and a whole lot of sweetness. We balance each other in all the best ways and inspire one another to be better people. And now, we’re counting down the days until we say “I do” and celebrate with the people we love most!
