Twin lakes set within a dormant volcano crater. Both ecologically different resulting in different colors. Legend has it: (as told by Wikipedia and paraphrased) “a bad tempered widowers King lived for his daughter. She would sneak out of the castle and fell in love with a shepherd. They gathered up their courage and went to the King with the shepherd’s intention to declare his love and ask for the Princess’s hand in marriage. The King reacted angrily, expelling the shepherd from the castle and forbidding the relationship. That night, the princess snuck out the castle to inform the shepherd this would be the last time they would see each other. The green-eyed Princess and blue-eyed shepherd embraced and cried all night with their tears forming the lakes: one green and one blue.
