Yes! The American Swedish Historical Museum has a beautiful front lawn where we'll have the ceremony and a tented patio for the reception. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place indoors but in both cases the reception will occur under a tent outdoors.
Formal attire is requested. We hope you'll join us in dressing for the occasion!
Masks will not be required for the ceremony or reception, in accordance with local guidelines for outdoor events. In the event of rain, masks may be required if we need to move the ceremony indoors. Guests are welcome to wear a mask if they desire, and will still need them on public or third-party transportation services. If curious about transmission and vaccination rates in the Philadelphia area, the following page is an excellent resource: https://www.phila.gov/programs/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19/data/testing/
In light of COVID and delays with the vaccine rollout, we hope pushing the wedding back will mean more people can more comfortably attend. Our #2 priority (after everyone’s health and safety, obviously) is throwing the best party of our lives, and we really want everyone to be able to celebrate with a drink in their hand on the dance floor—without needing masks or social distancing. The new date is the Saturday before Labor Day, so hopefully the long weekend will make it easier to travel. There’s also a beautiful parity with the date— both Alex’s and my parents got married over Labor Day weekend, so we'll get to honor their anniversaries together with ours.
