FAQs

Question

Do I need a visa for Thailand?

Answer

Not for stays under 30 days for most passport holders. Be sure to double check entry requirements though!

Question

Will kids be welcome?

Answer

Yes, absolutely. Kids are more than welcome to join us for the celebrations. The Marriott Merlin Beach is very family-friendly, and we'll have Oscar of course, so the more the merrier!

Question

What’s the weather like in February?

Answer

February is one of the best times to visit Phuket—warm, sunny, and typically dry. Perfect beach weather and ideal for a wedding by the water.

Question

Can we extend the trip or explore other parts of Thailand?

Answer

Absolutely! Thailand is full of incredible places to visit - Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Koh Samui, the islands and more. Please don’t feel like you have to stay in Phuket just because the wedding is there. We’d love for you to make the most of your trip - explore, relax, and enjoy!

Question

When should we arrive and leave?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Thursday 25 February or earlier so you can settle in before the wedding weekend begins. Most guests will likely head home on Monday 1 March, but you’re welcome to stay longer and enjoy more of Thailand.

Question

What should we wear to the wedding?

Answer

Dress code: Beach formal Think summer dresses, light suits, linen, and comfortable shoes for sand and grass. It will be warm and humid, so light fabrics are best. We’ll be mostly outdoors with some covered areas.

Question

Are there any group activities planned?

Answer

Yes! We’re planning welcome drinks the night before and a relaxed brunch the day after. We’ll also share some optional group outings or ideas for those arriving early.

Question

What’s the currency and how should we pay for things?

Answer

Thailand uses the Thai Baht (THB). While credit cards are accepted at most hotels and larger restaurants, cash is essential, especially for markets, local eateries, taxis, and smaller shops - many places prefer cash over card. You can exchange money at the airport or withdraw from ATMs when you arrive.
