We have two exciting options, both public parks. One is Christian Herter Park in Boston, and the other is the Larz Anderson Park in Brookline (just over the line from Boston). Both sites have space for us to gather, shade from the sun, public restroom facilities, and plenty of parking. Whichever park system approves our permit first will be the choice, so stay tuned to find out!
We are planning for an event that will run from 3:00pm to 7:30pm, but you should feel free to come and go as you need during that window. There may be a few speeches here and there, but no formal ceremony. Food and drink will be available throughout!
We're delighted you're making the trip to celebrate with us! Boston means a lot to us, and we have a million recommendations for things to do and eat and see while you're here if you are visiting. In terms of accommodations, Boston has many options. Both of our possible celebration sites are on the Western side of the city, so you may want to look for a hotel or Airbnb in the following neighborhoods: You might like Back Bay/South End, home to classic brownstones and plenty of shopping, Porter Square/Harvard Square, where Emilia was living when she met Alex, or Coolidge Corner, with a vintage movie theater and one of the best bookstores in the city If you have any questions about a place to stay, feel free to reach out to us and we are happy to help!
As soon as we have a finalized venue, we will update this and let you know! Both locations are easily accessible by car and slightly-less-easily accessible by public transportation.
Yes! Absolutely. Both venues have playground space for kids, and we would love to see them. Additionally, if you have pets you want to bring, they are also very welcome!
Please do! We would love to hear from you and help you however we can.
We are getting married in a small ceremony in Spain on May 9th, so you'll be celebrating us as newlyweds! We wanted to host this event in Boston as a way to gather some of our favorite people together, and honor the roles you all played in bringing us together in the first place. Think of it like a big, informal family reunion for a family that's just beginning.
