Due to changes in Wyandotte county, Derek and I were forced to move our wedding date to July 17th, 2020. We will be sending out new RSVP cards with detailed information on new ceremony time and reception time. Although we are disappointed and frustrated, we are excited that we only had to postpone about a month. I am currently working on contacting the hotel to make changes to our room block. Once I hear back, we will let everyone know what to do in terms of their hotel reservation. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone on July 17th!
Hi everyone! I am sure many of you have gotten your RSVPs returned in the mail. I am so sorry, this is our mistake not yours. We had a typo on our Apartment number, the card reads Apt. 14 but it SHOULD be Apartment 124. If you want to send us the RSVP for a song choice, PLEASE do! Just cross out the 14 and hand write 124 for the apartment number. I am going to try and contact the post office and see if anything can be done. Thank you for your patience with us. As I am sure all of you can imagine, the coronavirus has added many challenges with the wedding planning and we hurried our invitations along to give everyone as much time as we could. We can't wait to see everyone and celebrate!!
We met after a Thomas Rhett concert in Columbia, Missouri at a bar called Nash Vegas. While catching up with friends and dancing to country music, we began talking near the end of the night. Instantly connecting over our love for sports, hunting, and the outdoors, the night got away from us as we began sharing stories. We ended up eating biscuits and gravy at a local diner at 3 am and then parted ways until our first date in November at Outback Steakhouse.
The proposal day started out as any other Saturday, Tess (Alex's younger sister) was visiting us in Overland Park. Wanting to visit the botanical gardens, all three of us piled in the car and headed there on a 48 degree rainy afternoon. Grumpily walking around because of the weather, Derek called Alex back to the spot he planned to propose- in front of a beautiful lake in the gardens. The rain had stopped and Tess asked to take a picture of Derek and Alex in front of the lake. As Tess took the pictures, Derek got down on one knee and asked Alex to marry him.
