The first time Alex saw Dani, his heart literally skipped. There was something different about her, something that stood out. She was glowing, unforgettable. And instead of being smooth and introducing himself, Alex froze. He got nervous and just avoided her completely. Later, curiosity got to him, and he asked some friends who she was. Their response was simple, “She has a boyfriend.” Alex just smiled and said, “That’s okay, I just thought she was beautiful.” What he didn’t realize was that God was already moving pieces behind the scenes. Months went by, life kept going, and Alex didn’t think much about it. Then one day, a friend invited him to a workout class and casually said, “Dani will be there.” Who’s Dani, and why would I care? Alex thought to himself. He brushed it off, until... he walked in and saw her. Dani. The same girl who had left him speechless before. From that point on, their paths started crossing again and again. Looking back, it wasn’t just coincidence. It was God. Not long after, Dani invited a group of friends to go hiking. Alex honestly hoped he wouldn’t get invited because he wanted to sleep in, but of course he was. Halfway through, Dani couldn’t finish the hike, so she suggested making up for it with dinner later. By the end of the day, every single friend had canceled except Alex. January 16, 2021, started as a casual dinner but turned into something unforgettable. They ended up walking through downtown El Paso after dinner, just talking and laughing. At one point, Dani stopped and looked around at a corner lit up by the city lights. With a smile she said, “This looks like a scene from a movie, the kind of place someone could dance.” Without thinking twice, Alex reached out his hand and said, “Then let’s dance.” And right there, under the neon glow of downtown, they had their first dance. What was supposed to be a normal night with friends became their very first date, the moment everything changed. From then on, things just grew. Their friendship turned into something deeper, and their love became the kind that was grounded in prayer, laughter, and God’s hand over it all. They pushed each other closer to Jesus, prayed through struggles, and celebrated blessings together. On March 16, 2021, Alex asked Dani to be his girlfriend. It didn’t even feel like the start of something brand new, it felt like God had already written it long before, and they were just stepping into His plan. Over the years, they went through ups and downs, victories and challenges, but through it all, they held onto each other and onto their faith. Their love grew stronger, not because everything was perfect, but because Christ was the center of it all. Four years later, Alex knew it was time. He planned the proposal back where it all started. Under the same downtown lights where they had shared their first dance, Alex spun Dani just like he did years before. With his heart racing, he got down on one knee and looked into her eyes. With tears in his own, he told her, “Some may have their riches, some may have their worldly things, but as long as I have you, I’ll treasure each and every day. You are the joy of my life.” And then he asked the question he had been praying about for years: “Will you marry me?” In that moment, everything came full circle. What started with nervous glances, what felt like coincidences, what grew through prayer and faith, had turned into a forever love story.
