Like many millennials looking for love but not trying to do so in physical places, Alex and Daniel were a Bumble match made in heaven. They started off in a long-distance relationship AKA attempting to date while living in different NYC boroughs. Daniel found the perfect spot for their first date, The Belfry in Union Square, which was half-way between both their neighborhoods, helping fuel the denial of the distance. It was a cold winter day. Daniel has never been the best flirter, and this time was no different. Stupidly, Daniel never took his beanie off, so Alex thought he was in a rush. Daniel also only ordered one drink. Although Daniel continued to order water and stayed out until 11PM, what kind of idiot only gets one drink on a date? This wasn't a good look for Daniel. However, to Alex's surprise, Daniel actually had a wonderful time and couldn't wait to see her again. He also really had to pee after drinking so much water. Two months of joyous dating and more effective flirting persisted, meeting for afterwork dates on the Upper East Side. Then, the pandemic hit, shifting Alex and Daniel into waves of quarantining together or maintaining their relationship exclusively by video chat. Daniel and Alex are both resilient and allowed this challenge in their relationship to help them grow. Or maybe Alex just really didn't want to lose her true love, Hermanito. If that is the case, Daniel understands completely and couldn't ask for a better pup co-parent. Alex and Daniel share a love of outdoor adventures and travel, often spending weekends upstate exploring the Catskills, and vacations around the country and the world. However, they also enjoy the local gems of their beloved Brooklyn neighborhood, such as strolling through Prospect Park, popping into thrift stores, and sipping on craft beer in backyard dive bars. However, what truly makes Alex and Daniel a strong couple is their shared values. They are both passionate about their public service careers and care about making a positive impact on the world. They are also both life-long learners and always look to expand their minds and perspectives. Perhaps most importantly, they complement each other's weaknesses perfectly. If it weren't for Alex, Daniel would never know where any of his things are. If it weren't for Daniel, Alex would never stop worrying. They keep each other in check, balance each other out, and are lucky to have found each other. Even luckier than the last time Daniel found his keys without Alex's help.
