Yes! We don't want anyone to miss out so we will be setting up a way for people to tune in as we say our "I do's." Details will be posted closer to the wedding date.
Only immediate family and a few of our close friends will be present.
Oh the lovely Covid plan! We will be adjusting ours to best fit the restrictions put in place by the CDC as we near our big date. However, the current plan is: 1.) Masks will be required when inside or not eating. 2.) Hand sanitizer will be available in various spots throughout our church and venue. 3.) Social distancing bracelets will be worn by guests. A green bracelet means you are okay with hugs and high fives, a yellow one means you’re okay with talking but not touching, and a red means you are keeping your distance. 4.) Servers will be present to plate all food so we can keep things hands-off.
We met at the end of April in 2018. I, Alex, was promoted to Clerk Trainer for our company, QuikTrip. I was sent to train at store #56, or the store on Pine and Peoria in Tulsa, where Curtis was the First Assistant Manager. Throughout my training I grew to sort-of like Curtis. When Cinco de Mayo rolled around we decided to go to Los Cabos for margaritas but ended up finding ourselves sitting at a table at Flying-T. We talked for hours talking about life, work, and dogs. Since that night its been hard to imagine life without him. I guess that's why we are getting married!
Three! The order is: Squash = Curtis's Zoe = Alex's Oakley = Ours
Curtis! He messaged me on Facebook asking to hang out on Cinco de Mayo.
Curtis randomly was able to get off of work on a Friday night. We decided it would be fun to spend the evening with friends so we all met up at Los Cabos on the Riverwalk (where we were supposed to have our first hangout on Cinco de Mayo in 2018). Afterwards we planned to walk over to Flying-T to finish out the night with our friends (the place where we ended up having our first hang out). As we were walking over our friends decided to stop to take pictures with the Jenks bridge in the background. Once they were done they insisted that Curtis and I go next. I wasn't going to say no! All of a sudden everyone starts taking out their phones. I remember one of my friends saying, "Oh, I want to get pictures of this." I thought, "hmm that's odd," but then dismissed the thought. The next thing I know Curtis is turning to me saying all sorts of sweet things (I totally forgot what he said), and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course I said, "Yes!"
If you know Curtis then you know he doesn't like to sit still. Consequently, we are always up doing something! If the weather is just right, not too hot/not too cold, then you'll find us outside in our flower gardens, going on walks, at the dog parks, or out playing disc golf with our dogs (our favorite). If the weather is a little off then you'll find us playing card games, doing house projects (send prayers), watching movies, or hanging out on the couch enjoying each other's company. One thing that tops all of this is definitely spending time with our friends and family. We have some of our most cherished memories with our loved ones who we wouldn't trade for the world.
We are headed to Breckenridge, Colorado. We are going to enjoy a week in the mountains as we relax and soak in our first week of marriage.
