Our Story

The Road Least Traveled

A lot of relationships today start online, and they start fast. While these two did first meet online, they weren't quick to rush things. As they say, good things come to those who wait. Alex and Courtni matched on a popular dating app, and after chatting for a while, they made plans to meet at a nearby park. The connection between the two was instantaneous. They spent that whole night talking and listening to music playing softly from Courtni's old beat-up Samsung phone. Almost every song that came on was met by a "That's a great song." from Alex. They hadn't even realized how much time had passed until they saw the summer sun beginning to rise. They both departed knowing the person they had just met would change their life forever. Alex left knowing that one day he would marry that girl. Over the course of a few years, these two would meet up and repeat the same routine. Talk, listen to music, and lose time. There was always a back and forth, a will they won't they. Both sides eager but afraid to take the next step and risk losing their best friend. One night, Alex decided enough was enough, and after playing a show in Portland, where Courtni lived at the time, he asked one question that changed everything. "Can I crash at your house tonight?" A very simple sentence that changed everything. After 5 years of friendship, they were finally where they were always meant to be. Within 2 months, the two were engaged. Some people might argue that 2 months is moving fast. I say, after 5 years of friendship, they had grown to know each other on a deeper level than most, and are looking forward to spending the rest of their lives learning more about each other.
