Our story begins with learning Spanish! About 5 five years ago, Courtney and Alex were learning Spanish at different places. One night they both decided to go along to a tapas night to practise. Coincidences worked their wonderful ways, and by the end of the night they met each other and were sitting at the same table. Alex shared a great idea to set up a group that practised Spanish together, and they met up a few times at Spanish restaurants and tapas places. For almost a year, Alex and Courtney built a strong friendship. Their feelings grew and one day they shared how they felt. It happened during a sunset at Sugarloaf Rock, Margaret River (yes, cue romantic music). They then braced themselves for a long distance relationship – Alex was moving overseas for work and Courtney had been offered a job in Canberra. For over two years they did long distance. There were many trips between Malaysia, China and Australia – each time they realised the joy they brought each other and how they didn’t want to be apart. In 2019, they moved to Sydney and were so excited to finally live in the same place. Their time together confirmed what they had hoped while doing long distance - that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. So here we are! We can't wait to get married and continue to build a joyful, loving and very special life.
