It’s a tale as old as modern time: Alex and Conor met on Hinge. (If you’re reading this, Hinge… we're open to sponsorship opportunities.) After matching and spending some time sussing each other out, we discovered we both coincidentally had tickets to see Local Natives in concert on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. A very specific day of the week and month that would quietly become one of the most meaningful days of our lives. Naturally, we decided our first date would be after the show. Alex was very nervous, but thankfully her friends Sydne and Rachel were there to hype her up and give her the courage to actually go meet him. After the concert, Alex and Conor went to Tori Tori (which, when you’re in town, you absolutely should visit). The connection was immediate — easy conversation, effortless laughter, and the kind of comfort that makes time feel irrelevant. From that night on, life together has been beautifully full. We've navigated a pandemic. We've moved in together. We've said goodbye to beloved pets, Zucca and Mowm. We've traveled to incredible places, including Washington, Maine, and Arizona. Along the way, we've built a life filled with the things we love most. We've spent countless nights at live shows (one of our favorite shared traditions), cheered on the Orlando Magic and Orlando City Soccer — always with a stadium hot dog and popcorn in hand. And, thanks to Conor and his family, Alex has become deeply invested in Formula One. During race season, we can be found fully tuned in, tracking team standings and driver drama with serious dedication. And of course, no version of our story would be complete without Mumford. Winning him over was one of Conor’s earliest and most crucial tasks. It wasn’t immediate — Mumford famously hates men — but with patience and persistence, Conor earned his place. The two have been inseparable ever since: playing, being goofballs, and snuggling. Truly an iconic pair.
We’ve always loved escaping to the mountains to hike and explore, and one particular trail quickly claimed the number one spot in our hearts. On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Conor proposed to Alex on the Richland Balsam Trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway, with Mumford and Apollo as witnesses. The air carried the sweet scent of Fraser fir, and we were bathed in sunlight, surrounded by lush green trees, moss, and ferns. It was perfect.
On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Alex and Conor were married in a private ceremony at the Orange County Courthouse in downtown Orlando. Dressed in our wedding best, we caused a bit of a scene walking through the courthouse halls and on the streets of downtown — just two people bursting with love and joy. We vowed to love, honor, and comfort one another in sickness and in health, choosing each other in the simplest and most intentional way. It was intimate, meaningful, and entirely our own.
Our relationship over the past six years has been built in the big moments and the small ones: cooking dinner together, cleaning the house, running Sunday errands, being cozy on the couch watching a show, sharing a secret language that would sound absolutely unhinged to anyone else but makes perfect sense to us. And we are so excited to be committed to one another in this way for the rest of our lives, ready for everything that life has in store.
