Matron of Honor
One of my closest friends from back home. We met during our freshman year of college at an Intervarsity Christian Fellowship small group. We became close during our simultaneous study abroad stints - her in Costa Rica and me in Peru - over Skype! I always say "she's my catnip." Her nickname is "Macha," which means "blondie" in Tican Spanish. We've travelled to Toronto, Niagara Falls, Louisville and the UP together. Next stop - another continent!
Maid of Honor
Spanish, travel and faith are what brought Alicia and I together - much like Stephanie and I. One of my closest girlfriends from back home. I highly respect and am motivated by her dedication to her faith and her intentionality and care for others. She and I often operate on a last-minute basis - last minute b-day yoga on a boat or an overnight camping trip at PJ Hoffmaster State Park, late night talks in one of our bedrooms or beach walks. We still have yet to travel the world together!
Bridesmaid
Anna has become a close friend and confidante on so many levels since I moved to the East Side of Michigan. She is a part of a specific answer to prayer for community. We've laughed and cried together over the silliest and most important things. She's my go-to "girl date" (Alex, watch out!). Stranger Things and popcorn, anyone!
Bridesmaid
My vice, my friend, my sister. Lauren has a fiery and creative spirit that I admire. We spent hours playing outside and fishing across the street as children. I wasn't gutsy enough to hook the worm, so that was her job. It's a pleasure to grow up alongside her and see God's paths for us in our adult lives.
Bridesmaid
Her sharp wit and sarcastic sense of humor always keep me on my toes. From family trips, to coffee and mermaids, to snowboarding, it's always an adventure with her - whether small or big. We're the twisted sisters!
Bridesmaid
Liz is such a special woman to me! I can't say enough! She's been a source of wisdom and dear friendship - also an answer to prayer for community - these past few years. It's often exercising, cheering her husband Mike on in a race, errands, and last minute hangouts that bring us together. Liz even took me to a colonoscopy because of a scheduling fiasco! She's my yoga buddy too!
Best Man
Having developed our bond through our passion for MSU Athletics in middle school brought us together. We spent three years as roommates at Michigan State University where we attended nearly every basketball and football game together. We've been to a wide array of sporting events together from the Chicago Cubs to the Rose Bowl. We throughly enjoy speaking in sarcasm when it comes to sports in a manner that no one will ever understand.
Groomsman
Sean is one of my closest cousins who really encouraged me to keep pursuing Claire before we were dating. Sean has always been a positive influence and has helped me to reinforce my faith after College, and to pursue better fitness habits. He always made sure to let me know that he was engaged first, but I claim the shortest time of engagement!
Groomsman
When moving to California, finding a roommate who was a brother in Christ was truly a blessing. As my roommate for my time spent in California, Kevin and I always had something nerdy to talk about. We jumped into an amazing experience together at Google where we both were put into situations that helped us both grow out of our comfort zones. Kevin and I shared in our strong desire to serve at church and often attended together.
Groomsman
James and I are often holding down the rhythm section for the worship team at church. He lays down the bass tones and I drive the beat. Our friendship has been full of meaningful interactions where we can bring whatever we are dealing with to one another.
Groomsman
Being the husband of the Matron of Honor, Ian and I have had time to get to know each other and click almost immediately. Our humor is on the same page for the most part driving both of our significant others crazy. When his wife and Claire are talking in Spanish, we just look on with puzzled faces.
